You’re going to love this video from Americans for Prosperity, whose staff caught eco-hypocrisy on full display at Al Gore’s big energy sermon in Washington, D.C. earlier today.
Ed Frank writes: “We’re back from Al Gore’s big global warming speech, and boy did we have a great time! We had a dedicated band of taxpayer advocates out in force, pointing out the high economic cost of global warming alarmism - starting with $8 a gallon gasoline. Of course, we saw plenty of hypocrisy — especially the fact that Gore didn’t ride his bike or take public transporation to the event. He didn’t even take his Prius! Instead, he brought a fleet of two Lincoln Town Cars and a Chevy Suburban SUV! Even worse, the driver of the Town Car that eventually whisked away Gore’s wife and daughter left the engine idling and the AC cranking for 20 minutes before they finally left!”

Is that a pic from today’s speech?
BIG FAT PHONY POS
Well they have tough jobs managing us....
I believe so. :)
GREAT little video - thanks for the post.
Asshat...
A failed Divinity student dreams up a religion based on unprovable ‘science’ and rides the wave to personal profit.
On the one hand you have to admire it, but on the other hand you have to scratch your head at the fact that his most ardent supporters are the same people ridiculing organized religion.
What. A. Scam.
ALGORE needs a Freon enema.....
Like I’ve said before, if gas really does reach 8/gallon or higher, these hypocrites will be whining the loudest. They will then have to practice what they preach: walk, and ride bikes, and get on the bus. And these are the wimpiest people in the world.
The first guy in clip with his “ so what do you care” quip was a hoot. I was expecting him to blurt “ I am your overlord.”
Liberals are mind-numbing pathetic and vapid.
The woman with her, “ I’m running late excuse” and the twit who thinks $8 dollar gas is good for the country are blatant examples of a growing voting populace that has little sense of reality.
The video is “no longer available” when I tried it from this site and then on Michelle Malkin’s website. Hmmmmmmm...
Your statement reminds me of a failed art student who dreamed up a religion based upon genetic Aryan superiority.
Actually,
Unfortunately, my Brooklyn based daughter being one of them, has no concept of the increasing cost of energy, and cares less:
1) She has no need for an automobile; rides her bike in NYC.
2) She takes the subway when necessary, tokens haven’t really risen in cost.
3) Her Condo Association pays for the oil heat/hot water bills, so while there’s been an increase, she can’t relate it to her energy use, blaming her neighbors waste.
4) When visiting me, she bitches about the Amtrak service, not the modest increase in price due to energy.
5) When visiting her boyfriend in Utah, the complaint is about the lack of service, and the high cost, but not related to energy cost.
I wonder how many libs; like my daughter living in NYC, are insulated from the real world of increasing energy costs, and might back both Herr Pelosi and Nobamessiah in their quest to screw the American public out of increased US based energy.
Disgusting!
It's a $25,000 fine per incident for venting. The EPA pays a bounty for turning someone in. I need cash. I'm forwarding your post. Better look over your shoulder. ;)
I am already turning the radio off when I hear the Pickens, "We can't drill our way out..." commercials.
Bull pucky Pickens. Drill, refine, shale oil, coal to oil and nuclear power we have the energy to tell OPEC to stuff it.
“
But here is a little dirty fact not yet addressed, particularly by
Tree Huggers, and that is the very high number of bird deaths from
these turbines.
“
Ever wonder why T. Boone is putting his wind-turbine farms in TEXAS?
Because T. Boone is MUCH TOO SMART to challenge the
Anti-Wind-Turbine sentiment in a place like California.
Where the impact on birds has been an issue FOR ABOUT A DECADE.
And T. Boone even knows his personal wealth (approx. $4,000,000,000
US Dollars) is insufficient to overcome a populous state fixated on
environmentalism and willing to commit suicide by letting the cost of
energy go through the roof (and into the heavens...and “ad infinitum”).
Even the liberal/socialist/Green outlet of Wikipedia mentions
this downside of a form of “alternative energy” generation!
Maybe the Tree Huggers in your neck of the woods are mum about it.
But not the Tree Huggers in California!!!
And that enviro-complaint in CA got LOTS of front-page coverage in
The Los Angeles Times when I lived in Los Angeles during 1995-2005.
Heck, even The Los Angeles Times printed a sympathetic article about
“an Average Joe” that bought a wind turbine when the “power crisis”
was going on in California. IIRC, the guy couldn’t put up the wind-
turbine, even out near the empty spaces of Riverside because of all
the Bravo Sierra on zoning and “environmental impact” (e.g., on
migratory birds).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wind_power#Impact_on_wildlife
(from the Wikipedia article)
Danger to birds is often the main complaint against the installation of
a wind turbine, but actual numbers are very low: studies show that
the number of birds killed by wind turbines is negligible compared to
the number that die as a result of other human activities such as
traffic, hunting, power lines and high-rise buildings and especially
the environmental impacts of using non-clean power sources.
A survey at Altamont Pass, California, conducted by a California
Energy Commission in 2004 showed that onshore turbines killed between
1,766 and 4,721[81] birds annually (881 to 1,300 of which were birds
of prey). Radar studies of proposed onshore and near-shore sites in
the eastern U.S. have shown that migrating songbirds fly well within
the reach of large modern turbine blades.
A wind farm in Norway’s Smøla islands is reported to have affected a colony of sea eagles, according to the British Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. Turbine blades killed ten of the birds between August 2005 and March 2007, including three of the five chicks that fledged in 2005. Nine of the 16 nesting territories appear to have been abandoned. Norway is regarded as the most important place for white-tailed eagles.[82][83]
