if i post a positive story about a cop, will it reverse the trend?
It will reverse the trend if Internal Affairs would actually be a little more proactive in doing their jobs and can these guys before they do any serious damage. It will also reverse the trend if these guys can't just go to another state and become a cop there. Rinse, lather, repeat, ad nauseum.

You have the responsibility and authority to protect yourself.
Actually where I grew up, this was rarely true and when it was true then equal force must be involved.

GUARANTEED this aint the first time this officer has abused his office. To protect and to serve seems to sometimes become to oppress and to be served
Well playing devil's advocate here, I am sure the officer thought the motto "To protect and serve" meant that if you serve me I might just protect you.

This would never happen up North.
All the cops hang out at Dunkin’ Donuts.
