In the year since Al Gore took steps to make his home more energy-efficient, the former Vice Presidents home energy use surged more than 10%, according to the Tennessee Center for Policy Research
In the past year, Gores home burned through 213,210 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity, enough to power 232 average American households for a month
After the Tennessee Center for Policy Research exposed Gores massive home energy use [in February 2007], the former Vice President scurried to make his home more energy-efficient. Despite adding solar panels, installing a geothermal system, replacing existing light bulbs with more efficient models, and overhauling the homes windows and ductwork, Gore now consumes more electricity than before the green overhaul. Since taking steps to make his home more environmentally-friendly last June, Gore devours an average of 17,768 kWh per month 1,638 kWh more energy per month than before the renovations at a cost of $16,533. By comparison, the average American household consumes 11,040 kWh in an entire year, according to the Energy Information Administration.

Probably used all the extra power running the tools used to make those changes.
Those “enough to power 232 average American households for a month” numbers aren’t exactly correct. But it is over 200.
well thats what happens when you are home all day because no one invites you out to play.

In all fairness, shouldn't this factoid be reported as "enough to power 19 average American households for a year.", or something like that..
but obviously he’s had enough time to figure some other stunt for people to pay more. I bet it would work so well he could actually double the cost of his home energy use.
Because the bloated gas bag expelled double the hot air to keep this con job afloat.
In the summer and winter I average about 350-375 kWh a month (I'm heated and cooled by electricity) and in the spring and fall it's closer to 300/month.I think that this might mean that my "carbon footprint" might be a tad smaller than that of Mr Environment himself.
Combine this with the jet fuel he burns traveling the world and we’ve found out why there’s an energy crisis, LOL
In Houston, with TXU Energy I'm paying 13.67 per kWh, excluding taxes and non-recurging charges.
2-story home, 2 A/C units, no pool - 2453 kWh for June
What is going on in that house? Is he running a business from it?
algore to the peasants:
“Do as I say, not as I do”
“All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others”
You’re a lightweight compared to Gore.
Sanctimonious phony liberal hypocrite!
Judging from his behavior and thought process, I would guess that he's running a large bank of grow lights for his hydroponic marijuana farm up in the attic.
We should thank him for the economic & personal sacrifices he is making to try to keep us all safe from air and water polution rain forest destruction ozone depletion anthropogenic global cooling anthropogenic global warming Anthropolgenic Global Climate Change.
This whole scam is nothing more than the left’s capitalism. Their way to manipulate the market.
