I don’t believe for a minute that they are christian people. I think they are trying to make christians look bad.
Sadly, Fred would disagree with you. This is a group of people who have convinced themselves that they are doing God's work, and that they are destined for a place of honor in Paradise when they die. Personally, I think they're going to be very, very disappointed on that last part.
