Unfortunately for Nan, the current congressional oil drilling ban expires on September 30, 2008 and she doesn’t have the votes to renew it over a Bush veto. Hell she doesn't even have the votes to renew it even if there were a president willing to sign it.

She doesn’t need the votes. The first OCS or ANWR lease will unleash a barrage of lawsuits by the environwackos that will tie up drilling for 20 years or more. How do we get around that one?
