Beware! They'll Do It--An American congressperson wants to take your business away.

An American congressperson wants to take your business away.

Shocked that an elected legislator from California who swore an oath to defend the United States Constitution vows to do what the Constitution does not give her the authority to do?

You shouldn’t be because Rep. Maxine Waters is a liberal. The following is but a glimpse of what occurred in late May when a Democrat-led Congress summoned “big oil” executives to Capitol Hill to be publically harassed in a Stalinist like inquisition on the rising cost of gas.

John Hoffmeister (Shell Oil): “I can guarantee to the American people, because of the inaction of the United States Congress ever increasing prices unless the demand comes down, the five dollars will look like a very low price in the years to come if we are prohibited from finding new resources and new opportunities to increase supplies.”

Rep. Maxine Waters: “And, guess what this liberal will be all about? This liberal will be about socializing…uh, will be about basically taking over and the government running all of your companies.”

In effect, Congressperson Waters and her ilk have taken over the energy industry. For Washington controls where big oil drills and denies big oil drilling rights in areas entirely. Washington compels CAFÉ petroleum standards. Oil companies have been prevented by environmental fanatic congressmen from erecting refineries for more than three decades.

Washington takes some 15%, in taxes, of big oil’s revenues while doing nothing to explore, drill, refine and distribute its product to Americans. And still liberal New York Senator Chuck Schumer wants more control. He is calling for a windfall tax on big oil because he doesn’t like the profits, some four to eight and a half percent, according to Fox News, that oil companies are making in the capitalist market.

Now, if the self proclaimed “liberal” Rep. Waters freely admits to Americans that she wishes to take away your property (you are the stockholders), what does the senator in Congress rated by the Washington weekly National Journal as the most liberal, Barack Hussein Obama, wish to control?

The inexperienced three year Senator says he will nationalize the health care industry, thereby establishing a huge bureaucracy in Washington where more power will be centralized in the hands of his leftist legislator comrades. And that means less liberty for you! It is only one element of the change he is promising for America. Obama tells you that his change will educate your children. And his change will make everyone’s life more livable. It is the Obama change that will bring quality health care to everyone. His change will deliver equality to minorities and women. Obama’s change will bring security to the elderly. And very importantly, when it comes to financing his trillion dollar changes, he says that you shouldn’t be concerned from where the money will come.

Fact: He will punish the successful in America. A President Obama and a Democrat-controlled congress admit that they will take from one group and give it to another.

Obama’s scheme is nothing new. Concerning the redistribution of the wealth, Obama is just embracing an ideology hatched by the founder of communism, Karl Marx, who sloganeered: “from each according to his ability to each according to his need.” It became the foundation for socialism, the failed notorious political ideology that has been discredited in Russia, Eastern Europe, Africa, North Korea, South and Central America and Cuba, among other places.

Arguably, socialism’s worst effect is that it dehumanizes man, as libertarian and author Ayn Rand points out in The Momentum Builders: “The essential characteristic of socialism is the denial of individual property rights; under socialism, the right to property (which is the right of use and disposal) is vested in ‘society as a whole,’ i.e. in the collective, with production and distribution controlled by the state, i.e. by the government…. When you consider socialism, do not fool yourself about its nature. Remember, that there is no such dichotomy as ‘human rights’ versus ‘property rights.’ No human rights can exist without property rights. Since material goods are produced by the mind and effort of individual men, and are needed to sustain their lives, if the producer does not own the result of his effort, he does not own his life. To deny property rights means to turn men into property owned by the state. Whoever claims the ‘right’ to ‘redistribute’ the wealth produced by others is claiming the ‘right’ to treat human beings as chattel.”

The founding fathers of our once great republic never envisioned a nation where its citizens’ private property could be confiscated by a centralized government on the whim of the President or his cronies in Congress. They created a document that would prevent a collectivist tyranny from taking personal property and dictating education, health care, business relations, abortion, marriage, America’s culture, and more. In 1791 they wrote into the United States Constitution Amendment 10: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited to it by the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

Republican Arizona Senator Barry Goldwater, a founding father of conservatism, explained it when he ran for President in 1964: “Those who seek to live your lives for you, to take your liberties in return for relieving you of yours, those who elevate the state and downgrade the citizen must see ultimately a world in which earthly power can be substituted for divine will, and this Nation was founded upon the rejection of that notion and upon the acceptance of God as the author of freedom. Our towns and our cities, then our counties, then our states, then our regional contacts – and only then, the national government. That, let me remind you, is the ladder of liberty, built by decentralized power.” It has been proven over and over again that only when man is permitted to unleash his spirit to invent and create, free of centralized governmental intrusion and regulation, can a society become free and economically vibrant.

Still, too many Americans have bought into a big government controlled change. What that “change” (Obama’s campaign slogan) entails many Americans really do not know. Yet they follow the Pied Piper of change, a change that Obama insists will benefit their lives.

What those who naively welcome Obama’s change do not yet understand is that it is a change that can only lead to social and political conditions neither envisioned nor bargained for. “The proponents of change claim that they aim to make society more responsive to what people want. Actually, what people want most is stability and continuity rather than change… Moreover, a drastic change is likely to be attended by unforeseen explosive side effects,” wrote 20th century philosopher Eric Hoffer. “Plato went to the extreme of maintaining that tyranny is the government under which change is easiest and most rapid.”

Notwithstanding recent revelations concerning Obama’s long-standing ties to extreme leftists and radicals in Chicago, there is still much we do not know about the Senator who insists that his change will steer America to a new glorious destiny.

We do know, however, that he is in favor of taking over your health care. He also says that he wishes to take your property in the form of money by significantly increasing your taxes. The wannabe President needs your money for his larger centralized government in order to redistribute your wealth. And therein is the real great danger for this nation as Eric Hoffer warns us: “A nation is on its way out when it devotes much of its wealth and energies to the care and welfare of the least endowed segment of its population and puts a low ceiling on the rewards of those who ceaselessly strive and achieve.”

Beware! The liberals will do it.

If you're tempted to refuse to vote for McCain, consider the alternative--a U.S.A. under the control of the likes of Maxine Waters. When you do, McCain seems downright...not nearly as bad.

Do not throw your vote away. Vote AGAINST the Radical Nutcase Left, i.e. the Democrats.

There is a huge difference between a RINO and a Leftist Radical. We can recover from the effects of a RINO. The United States--as powerful as it is--will never recover from a Democrat seizure of the Presidency, Congress, and the Supreme Court!

ms. waters has already threatened to do so. she wants to “take over the oil industry”. what she really means is that she loves the money it brings in and wants to control a nice juicy morsel. (just like il duce)

these people are not just dangerous, they are stupid. (a deadly combination)

“An American congressperson wants to take your business away”

If anything will keep Jewish Americans from voting with the Democrats, it’s this.

I didn’t mean you, S. I was just ranting at anybody who might consider sitting the election out. We need all the sane voters we can get! Sorry I wasn’t clear.

This reminds me of a Commie joke....
A U.S. visitor to a factory in Russia is talking to one of the workers as the factory boss walks by and sees that his comrade is goofing off.

The American says, "Aren't you afraid your boss caught not working?"

The Russian answers, "No. I pretend to work and he pretends that he pays me."

That's socialism / communism in a nutshell. Everyone would become a bankrupt, penniless peasant -- except the Commissars (Congress).
