I had this conversation with a female professional in San Francisco today. I said, “Obama troubles me.” She asked, “Why?” I told her that I had read “Dreams from My Father” and asked her if she did. She replied, “No?”. She asked what troubled me about the book. I told her it was the drugs, the active seeking of Marxist inspiration and the deep seated anti-white racism despite being raised by white grandparents.

She said, “A person shouldn’t be judged on what they write in their youth. People can change...evolve.” I told her I found that highly suspect. I told her he was over 30 when he wrote the book. I told her that my core values were pretty much in place by the time I graduated college at 22. I told her that Reagan governed very much in the vein of his statements that he made back during the Goldwater campaign. I told her that the Reich Chancellor governed just like his views in “Mein Kampf”.

She paused. She thought. She said, “Did you know that I’m Jewish?” I said, “No.” We were silent together for a while.

Greetings johnnycap:

While reading Audacity of Hope, my reflections where how the book reeks of Marx style class warfare rhetoric.

Cheers,

Wow! You write beautifully!
I don’t know if that is a true story or not but it should be.
Thank you.
