The job of a prosecutor is to pursue justice by getting convictions of the guilty. It is not to convict and/or harass the innocent.

The job of a prosecutor is to secure convictions. Period. A lot of people, including many unethical prosecutors, seem to have that opinion. But in fact, as an "officer of the court", the job of a prosecutor is to see that justice is done.
