how about someone introducing a bill to take 0.01 % of the ANWR territory away and revert it to private use?
don’t even mention oil drilling, just drive home the point that is is 0.01 PERCENT returned to private use... and it wont affect the other 99.99 percent
Even better- use a democrat trick and pass a bill stating that 99.99% of ANWR will not be used for private use. It is their usual method of getting that 0.01% foot in the door.
The GOP Senate Candidates need to gather and have a rally supporting Drilling and a comprehensive energy policy in DC.
This is an opportunity to turn what is a tough political season around. I’m not sure what Ensign is doing. The leaders seem to be just waiting for a train wreck. Well screw that. We have lots of solid conservatives running against liberals and if you haven’t noticed the nation party organizations are leaving them out to dry. It kind of looks like they don’t want more conservative Senators to me. Many of the polls show the only thing keeping the races from being competitive is money and recognition. Durbin is a prime example. The guy should be ground chuck with his anti-troop diatribes but Dr. Sauerberg has been left to run the race out of his own pocket. I saw this same pattern happen in 2006. We came within 2 seats of holding the Senate. We lost a seat here in Virginia for no reason and the national party didn’t focus any money on try to make Democrat seats in Republican friendly territory competitive.
So now we are two seats away and the GOP is running to lose.
