***Initial assessments indicate that the Anaconda would be rated at a power output of 1 megawatt (MW) and might be able to generate power at a cost of UK 6p [US $0.12] per kilowatt-hour (kWh) or less. Although around twice as much as the cost of electricity generated from traditional coal-fired power stations, this compares very favorably with generation costs for other leading wave energy concepts.***
Why bother if it’s that much more expensive?
Why bother if its that much more expensive?
Because “alternative” like “organic” spells M O N E Y.
Who knows what will be discovered in the next 25 years while
we are burning coal, gas, and various crude oil fractions.
That is probably less expensive than other alternative energy sources and, unlike fossil fuels, won't run out. I think it is a clever concept and hope it succeeds. I just wonder what the life expectancy of a rubber tube exposed to sun and salt water is?
