I wonder if the Republicans in the Senate will have enough cojones to filibuster it.

I hope they wouldn't. Force a vote and get the democrats on record, a month before the election, banning the expansion of domestic oil production.

Ah jeez. Why does it always have to be cajones? Can't it be something they have for once? :)

Don’t need to filibuster it, let the Dems pass it and see how many votes they will lose.

cojones

What the heck is cojones? Spanish for refried beans? It is bad enough we can't make English our own country's official language -- can't this forum at least be conducted in plain English?

Why the Hell would they filibuster it? We want a vote followed by a veto if necessary. This is good news.

Don’t include the Colemans, Collins and Snowes as Republicans. I fit goes down to defeat just thank these RINOs.

Filibustering it would allow Democrats to tell their environmental friends that they tried to keep the ban, while not having to go on record voting to keep the ban.

The Republicans should be very happy to allow this to be voted on in an election year. If they lose the vote many those that vote for continuing the ban will have a hard time explaining it to their constituents that are being driven into poverty by gas prices.

Bush can and almost certainly will veto any bill containing an extension of the ban, so Republicans would be wise not to filibuster the legislation.
