Zucker may only get limited mileage out of cable.

"By the end of this decade or shortly thereafter, television networks as we know them today will cease to exist. They will be just another url on the world wide web competing against millions of others."

"Network evening newscasts will go dark after the '08 elections and their news divisions disbanded."

I say let 'er rip.

...If Ron Fournier wants to drive the Associated Press over the cliff and plunge it into flames, let him have at it.

In a sense, at least he's not making a pretense of being impartial, although it is rather condescending and offensive to the average American who is reasonably educated enough to think for himself to have some Liberal Know It All telling him what to believe on any given issue.

Like the New York Times, Washington Post, and the Atlanta Constitutional Journal, the AP will soon cease to be relevant to those outside of Blue State and City enclaves.

My hometown newspaper uses a lot of AP reports. And they now allow comments by it's readers. The Editors are liberals (big surprise), so just to tweak their noses, I've begun noting under their AP stories the following comment: "Since the AP has decided to allow it's reporters to insert personal opinions, surmises, and impressions within it's stories, why should I believe any of this story you have printed? Please explain."

I urge everyone to do the same.
