Keep in mind the President, First Lady and many other VIP’s will be in attendance. Security will be in place.
Thank you for that. Thank the Lord for security. This family
does NOT need the indignity of having to deal with those
nutjobs!
Nothing that dramatic. Basicall I was going to just wonder aloud how the funeral attendees haven’t given these Phelps people what they so richly deserve. It’s a testament to their admirable restraint.
Tarring and feathering sound like a good idea, though. Maybe if the Phelps people showed up to a funeral and there was a big vat of bubbling tar and a pile of feather pillows there, they’d think twice.
That’s the kind of back-up that will keep the cowards away!
They never seem to show up when the Patriot Guard does...
wonder why???? :D
There was one time I think they had to flee in a van and some windows were broken out. They all need a good old fashioned ass-whooping. They need to come down here to Texas so we can show them the appropriate hospitality. It is astonishing that they haven’t suffered any losses. If it were my loved one being “protested”, the cemetery would be busy a few days later.
I really think if they’d have come to CC that day, they would not be an issue now. ;)
I think you are right...they would have been “eliminated” as it were! Good riddance to bad rubbish!
He is a disbarred lawyer and founder of the Phelps Chartered law firm.
On July 20, 1979, Fred Phelps was permanently disbarred from practicing law in the state of Kansas, but continued to practice in the Federal courts.
In 1985, nine Federal judges filed a disciplinary complaint against Phelps and five of his children, alleging false accusations against the judges. In 1989, the complaint was settled, with Phelps agreeing to permanently stop practicing in Federal court, and two of his children suspended for periods of six months and one year.
Two of his sons, Mark and Nate, insist that the church is actually a carefully planned cult that allows Phelps to see himself as a demigod, wielding absolute control over the lives of his family and congregants, essentially turning them into slaves that he can use for the sole purpose of gratifying his every whim and acting as the structure for his delusion that he is the only righteous man on Earth.
Phelps’ stated political views and activities are primarily driven by his view that the United States is, “a sodomite nation of flag-worshiping idolators.”
“Military funerals are pagan orgies of idolatrous blasphemy where they pray to the dunghill gods of Sodom and play taps to a fallen fool, ‘They shall not lament for him, saying, Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! they shall not lament for him, saying, Ah lord! or, Ah his glory! He shall be buried with the burial of an ass, drawn and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem.’”
Phelps has run in various Kansas Democratic Party primaries five times.
Phelps supported Al Gore in the 1988 Democratic Party primary election.
According to Phelps, members of the Westboro Baptist Church helped run Gore’s 1988 campaign in Kansas. Phelps’ son, Fred Phelps Jr., hosted a Gore fundraiser, which Al and Tipper Gore attended, at his home in Topeka.
Fred Phelps, Jr. served as a Gore delegate to the 1988 Democratic National Convention.
in 1998 Harper’s magazine published a letter Phelps sent to Castro in which he praised Castro and lambasted the U.S.
In 2003, before the fall of Saddam Hussein during the Iraq War, Phelps wrote Hussein a letter praising his regime for being, in his opinion, “the only Muslim state that allows the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to be freely and openly preached on the streets.”
The American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit in Missouri on behalf of Phelps and Westboro Baptist Church to overturn the ban on the picketing of soldier’s funerals. The ACLU of Ohio also filed a similar lawsuit
Fred Phelps is a LUNATIC!!!
Fred Phelps Thanks God for Killing Tim Russert
In a 4-minute video harangue, Phelps scolds Russert for molding public opinion for the devil; condemns jackasses James Carville, Wolf Blitzer and Tom Brokaw for eulogizing the journalist; and denounces Russerts religious beliefs as Roman Catholic voodoo.
According to one of Phelps eight daughters, Shirley Phelps, the church is made up of about 100 members, about 80 of which are family members.
In 1993 Charles F. Hockenbarger, Karl Hockenbarger, Timothy Phelps, Jonathan Phelps, Phelps Sr. and Margie Phelps were brought up on a variety of criminal charges stemming from information gathered following a raid on Westboro Baptist.
Jon Phelps was found guilty of witness intimidation and misdemeanor battery, and has defended the actions that led to that arrest and guilty verdict as recently as October 11, 2006 on Midweek Politics. Margie Phelps was found guilty of filing a false report and Phelps Sr. was found guilty of disorderly conduct as defined by aggravated intimidation of a witness
In 1995 Phelps Sr.’s eldest grandson, Benjamin Phelps, was convicted of assault and disorderly conduct after spitting into the face of a passerby during a picket and then laughing. The security cameras of a nearby business caught the incident on tape
Also in 2004, Margie Phelps and her son Jacob were arrested for trespassing, disorderly conduct and failure to obey after disregarding a police officer’s order that they were not allowed to enter a company’s private property with chairs and stand on them with an upside down flag and a picket sign.
The day after the death of Pope John Paul II, Phelps held a service to “celebrate his entrance into Hell”, during which he boasted, “You don’t think he split Hell wide open? We’re the only ones telling the truth about that son of a bitch!”
God bless you!
Dear young friends, you belong to God and have already won your fight with those who are against Christ, because there is someone in your hearts who is stronger than any evil teacher in this wicked world. These men belong to this world, so, quite naturally, they are concerned about worldly affairs and the world pays attention to them. But, we are children of God; that is why only those who have walked and talked with God will listen to us. Others won’t. That is another way to know whether a message is really from God; for if it is, the world won’t listen to it.
Dear Friends, let us practice loving each other, for love comes from God and those who are lvoing and kind show that they are the Children of God, and that they are getting to know him better. But, if a person isn’t loving and kind, it shows that he doesn’t know God— for GOD IS LOVE.
1 John 4:4-8 Living Bible
No thanks. I don’t want to fill my head with their evil.
“.......whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Phillipians 4:8
You are right.
Better for them to have a stone tied around their neck, and be dropped into the sea....than to cause one child to stumble...~ Jesus Christ
Thank you. It’s good to know. I would hate for Jill and the kids to see these nuts on such a sad day for them. They deserve far better.
The series from the BBC hosted by Louis Theroux is really comprehensive:

The Theroux guy is amazing in his restraint. I would have gone ballistic in two shakes of a lamb’s tail.
Westboro Baptist Church to Picket Tony Snows Funeral
The Westboro Cult certainly does a lot of travelling. Where's the money come from?
These people are not Christians in any way, shape or form.
Beautiful! Thank you and God Bless these absolutely incredible troops!
