No, their continued presence in Washington falls squarely on the voters. Prime examples being Massachusetts where anti-drilling anywhere Jean Francois Kerry is heading for certain reelection and Illinois where equally anti-drilling anywhere Little Dick Durbin is also cruising to reelection.
Fuel prices in Massachusetts and Illinois as of July 13, 2008:
Despite those prices and their stands on drilling, both Senators enjoy overwhelming reelection prospects with Kerry leading his Republican opponent 58% to 27% and Durbin leading his 61% to 27%. Seems like the people of Massachusetts and Illinois are very happy with the price of fuel and the role their senators are playing in keeping them high.

And for good measure, let's not forget that both Senators have falsely and viciously accused American troops of atrocities. Kerry with his Jengis Khan affectation in the early 70s before Congress and Durbin with his Senate floor speech in 2005 calling the troops Nazis, Soviet gulag torturers, and Pol Pot genocidists. Again, the voters in both states must like this kind of stuff.
I don’t get it, either. Boortz brought it up to his “man in Washington” Jamie Dupree last week. All he could say was, when they meet their constituents, they’re preaching to the choir. Exxon Valdez is now 20 years ago, I can’t remember the last major oil spill since then, but don’t drill, something bad might happen. It’s insanity.
