HINT: take a look at who elects them.
Some folks are perpetually angry about something. Get a life !
That could not be... Here's a quote about the man himself, probably written by him (with a lot of help), on the county web site.
"John Wiley Price brand of advocacy and activism can be summed up in this way: John Wiley Price addresses real issues, advances real change and achieves real results . He has earned the full respect of the constituents within his district and in the County at-large. Additionally, he has placed himself in the vanguard for those who have been historically locked out, especially for African-American people. He campaigned initially as " Our Man Downtown ", and has proven himself as such over the years."
Where’s the Monty Python major that comes in to break everything up saying “Silly, this has got downright Silly!”
You have to understand his constituency represents the worst of the worst. They deserve each other.
He's drunk far too muich of that Black Liberation Kool-aid.
...and we have a presidential candidate weaned on the same stuff.
As I posted on a similar thread, it’s like the following scene in “Eddie” with Whoopie Goldberg:
Edwina “Eddie” Franklin: Hey, Patton, pass the ball! What are you, the black hole of basketball? Come on!
Joe Sparks: (to Stacy) You going to let her call you a black ho?
Darren Taylor: Man, a HOLE.
Stacy Patton: What’s a black hole?
Polynice, Olden: A black hole is a theoretical object in space. It is so dense that matter collapses... and light itself cannot escape. (shoots his free throw)
Terry Hastings: I knew that.
The party of perpetual outrage. I think black holes are cool. So is devil’s food cake, for that matter.
Gerrymandered districts.
This is like a scene out of the awful Whoopie Goldberg movie Eddie.
I’m sorry I know that.
Life imitates art—well, crappy art.
Paint it, paint it, paint it, paint it anything but you know what.
” . . . otherwise Price is either a very ignorant individual, or a racist himself . . “
Bingo!
(From one who has watched Price’s idiocy for decades. Only thing new here is that, thanks to the internet, the whole country gets to watch his antics this time around.)
im waiting for the native americans (whatever) to complain to banks about how insulted they are when finances are described as being ‘in the red’ or ‘red ink’ as bad...and being ‘in the black’ is good...
I won’t be surprised if the admin mods pull this. But you see, I think Price misunderstood Mayfield and thought he said “Black Ho”. It had to be this, because otherwise Price is either a very ignorant individual, or a racist himself to make the assumption that the term “Black Hole” had any racist connotations whatsoever.
I completely agree with you. He must have misunderstood Mayfields comments, although, any intelligent or non-racist person could have easily seen that Mayfield was referring to the astronomical term. If Mayfield was black this would have been a non-issue.
The 2 who took offense were Commissioner John Wiley Price and Judge Thomas Jones. I tried finding email addresses for these examples of brilliance, but was unsucessful.
This lunacy is among both the most amusing and the most disappointing thing I have *ever* seen
