Where are the British men to correct this travesty?

Sadly, it 'appears' that Mrs. Lake's husband remained in the car during this series of events.  From the Bristol Evening Post:

A Bristol woman who confronted two youths over vandalism to a war memorial has told a court of her shock that she ended up locked in a police cell for three hours, accused of assault.

The 50-year-old told the court yesterday that for more than two years she and her husband Peter would often clear rubbish from around the memorial, which she said was continually vandalised.

On December 11 they were driving past the memorial.

She said: "I saw four youths on BMX bikes circling the exterior monument garden at some speed through the flower beds.

"I recognised faces but did not know their names. I asked my husband to stop the car."

****************************

No mention is made of the husband thereafter, and all statements pertaining to the incident are in the form of first-person singular....never "my husband and I",only "I".

From this it "appears" that Mr. Lake remained in the car.
