No, this speech has never been delivered at a college or a university. It was written to protest the fact that such an invitation has never been offered! It has only been delivered on my radio show, printed in my book “The Terrible Truth About Liberals” and produced on a limited edition CD. I apologize to those who I mislead when I posted this. I should have checked further, but I so loved the content of what he had to say I went off half-cocked and thought everyone else would enjoy it...which most apparently have. I'm a die-hard listener of his show (when I'm not playing golf at that hour!) and support almost everything he has to say. (Neal: the pre-bate of the Fair Tax worries me as I see it as a crack in the door for politicians where they can argue for “adjustments” because Buttface, Arkansas has a lower cost of living than NYC, etc.)

Anyway, keep us one our toes, Neal, and keep us thinking...

That's because it continues to be mistaken as a real commencement speech, posted and lauded on sites like this one, and passed along, with many of the recipients and forwarders perpetuating the myth that it's a real commencement speech. Its popularity is thus a reflection of people's gullibility as much as it is the power of its message. Personally I find much in Boortz's piece to agree with, and about as much to disagree with. I accept that this places me in the minority here, but I think Boortz himself would approve of my conscious refusal to be sucked into the kind of group-think that condemns contrary opinions.
