Somehow, air travel has not progressed quite as I expected.

Anyone remember the episode of the Beverly Hillbillys where Jethro and Jed bought an airline and replaced the seats with wooden benchs? They figured they could get more folks on the plane.

Will US Air to do the same?

Somehow, air travel has not progressed quite as I expected.

And I'd wager it never will.

We'll still be using the good old fashioned aluminum tube pushed along by compression jet engines well into the next century and beyond. If we haven't reverted back to props and pistons because todays tech is beyond the mediocre mechanics and engineers of 2108.

I see a long slide backwards for civilization in out future unless something drastic happens to change the pendulum's backward swing.
