you can only shove so much fuel in a time before you will bust a line. more is not alwatys safer. let alone smarter.

The old steam boom on the KC-135 could manage 1000gpm. The KC-10 can do up to 1500gpm. It seems the NG/EADS KC-45A rating of 1200 gpm is right in the zone the USAF is used to.

correction kc-767 900gpm
kc-10 600gpm
kc-45 599gpm only listing showing.
kc-135 1000gpm only if you change the fuel probe and they don’t do that anymore due to receiver uarrsi blow outs

multiply by 7.3/7.4/ or 7.5 depending on ambient temp and you get the pounds per minute
