Nebraska: 7/1/08 gas tax went up 3 cents/gallon due to the revenues were down since usage was down.

Does anyone else pay sales tax on the water that comes into your home from public utility? There is no sales tax on bottled water from the grocery store or no sales tax on water used for irrigation, but if you want to take a shower or wash your clothes... taxes.

Sad part is most of these local, county, and state govts could cut back on a lot of the waste...and not raise taxes. Their depressed economies would improve w lower taxes.

Our country had a revolution over a 3% tax on tea.
