Very scary. But I wasn't there, it was my step dad and my brother and THEY were up a tree stand they built for that purpose. Smart move. That bear was over 6 feet tall sitting on its ass. It was Halloween night and I was down in Chico CA for some cold beer and hot women.

Also the angle of the shot was towards the heart from the shoulder. Hard to get that angle on a 7 foot tall bear when you are on the ground! Tree stand highly recommended for shooting large bears!!!!
