Do I fear for my country's future after the display by Rene Marie of all the values of the post 1960s Left in Denver last week with her substitution of a black separatist anthem for our national anthem and the fact not one Denver City official stopped her and demanded she sing the National Anthem? Yes, I do. Everything the Left has done to our country came home to roost in that one event: ethical relativism, multiculturalism, the supremacy of feelings, artist snobbery and group victimization - the entire Left moral/cultural
gestalt. And no one thought what she did was wrong. There is no more more right and wrong, shared national identity, putting country ahead of self, demanding every one be an American first and showing reverence towards America. Today, all that's passe. And the Left can't denounce what Marie did since her values are their values. America deserved better last week.

If Obama wants to pick up some additional votes, he should throw her under the bus. I think there’s some room left next to the right rear tire.

... What Marie did embodied a plethora of leftist ideals and characteristics:
- Ethical relativism,
- multiculturalism,
- the supremacy of feelings,
- the belief that artists are above normal ethical standards and
- group victimization.

Moral Clarity BUMP !
This ping list is not author-specific for articles I'd like to share. Some for the perfect moral clarity, some for provocative thoughts; or simply interesting articles I'd hate to miss myself. (I don't have to agree with the author all 100% to feel the need to share an article.) I will try not to abuse the ping list and not to annoy you too much, but on some days there is more of the good stuff that is worthy of attention. You can see the list of articles I pinged to lately on my page.
You are welcome in or out, just freepmail me (and note which PING list you are talking about). Besides this one, I keep 2 separate PING lists for my favorite authors Victor Davis Hanson and Orson Scott Card.

I think I would have cut her mike. But then she would say...
Fortunately, I wouldn't care. Bumping for later read in full.

After hundreds of books and and thousands of articles analyzing what has happened to this country from the 1960’s onwards, it seems that nothing should surprise us anymore. I'm only amazed she didn't sing the Cuban or Zimbabwean national anthem.
