Obama backs the law that has a provision added in by Claire McKasill at, Obama’s request, that benefits a person that had one single parent at birth. McCain had two. Obama had one.

I just did a google search and this is what I found. Is this what the senate passed or is there more to it?

That's just a sense of the Senate resolution. In earlier iterations, it was a bill modifying 8 USCA Sec. 1401.
