I just found it bizarre that the article would go to such lengths to avoid saying the man was Muslim, though by his name and nationality he obviously is. I did not mean to imply that it's hard to think of Muslims living in Georgia, or anywhere else in the US.

Don’t be too sure, my Iranian neighbor beat his wife to death with a bedpost in their backyard. Lady next door saw it happen from her bedroom window and called police. He posted bond and fled to Iran, where he was supposedly a friend of the Shah.
