Not all of the child stars turn out wrong.
I was reading a trivia book the other day talking about past child stars.
The youngster who played Charlie, in Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, turned down two other films and became a veterinarian.
The kid that played Willie Olson became a stockbroker on Wall Street.

Not all of the child stars turn out wrong. If you actually look at the numbers, only a miniscule fraction of a % "go wrong." There are thousands of kids who perform in film and TV every year.
How many get in any kind of legal trouble every year? A handful at most.

My favorite child star is Danica McKellar. She still acts off and on, but she's got a degree in math, a published paper as an undergrad (rare) and has written a math book called "Math Doesn't Suck" for middle-school girls. She's also one of the few people with both a Bacon number (degrees of separation from Kevin Bacon in roles played) and an Erdos number (degrees of separation from famous mathematician Paul Erdos in co-authorship of mathematical papers).
