The campaign of 2008 started on July 1 when Obama launched his first national advertising buy of the season. How McCain responds and whether or not he does, will have a big impact in determining whether Obama can solidify or expand his current lead in the polls. As always, the media fails to cover the significant events of the campaign -- but this is one of the most critical.

I sent this article to Bill Adair of the St. Pete Times, who runs the Political Fact Checking column, which may run nation-wide. I asked him to review the column and report his findings in his column. I told him I’ll be watching to see how “neutral” his column is. If he prints it, I’ll post it on FR.

I completely agree. That is my personal message while I am out working the mean streets of Santa Barbara.
McCain’s campaign centers around his resume, which is why he is going to get trounced. He did the same thing in the GOP primaries and became the presumptive nominee with 31% of the vote. That dog won’t hunt in the general election.
McCain has been part of the problem. He is still against drilling in ANWR and his “epiphany” on drilling offshore was to leave it up to the states. Not exactly a forceful and clear way to address the issue. McCain is trying to have it both ways. Alaskans want to drill in ANWAR, but it is on federally controlled land.

The voters you need in the middle don’t even look up til Sept. Obama is wasting his money and pissing off the only people paying attention to his ads right now .. his base.
oh, i get it!
republicans are male
and democrats are female.
That is exactly right. But we do need to be busy getting our ducks in a row.
Right now I am working on framing the arguments that will need to be made come September and working on local organization and letter writing.
