As everyone knew. All of the yellowcake was a remnant of the pre-1991 Iraq program, which was identified and regularly inspected by the IAEA. There are innumerable pre-Gulf War II press articles and documents mentioning it.

This has nothing to do with Joe Wilson. And had nothing to do with the WMD justification for the war.

Yes and no. Remember that the administrations claim was that Saddam had SOUGHT uranium in Africa, not that the purchase had necessarily been made.

The fact is Iraq DID buy yellowcake (lots of it) from Africa pre-1991 (in fact, from NIGER), and when, 10 years later, Saddam sent a trade mission to Niger which included nuclear experts, ...only Wilson, Democrats, and the Jurnilists are stupid enough to believe they went there looking to buy peanuts and goatskins.

Thanks....that’s what I keep thinking. If it’s all pre-1991 and the same stuff we already knew existed, what’s the big hoopdedoo?

That's not true. The CIA group that Plame was associated with thought the idea that Hussein was attempting to obtain (more) yellowcake (from Niger) was ridiculous, justified that by arguing that because he already HAD this huge quantity they couldn't see him wanting more.

Oh, Mohamed El-Baradei and the IAEA had it all under control. That's good. Because I've been wondering all these years why the hell they ever permitted Saddam to maintain possession of thousands of tons (remnants) of raw nuclear materials after 1991.

I'm sure Saddam never dreamed of breaking those UN seals when he threw the inspectors out of the country.

I think it had a great deal to do with justification for the war.

I am uncertain whether we knew of the existence of the isotope. Its possession, however, is sufficient cause to depose Hussein (Sadam, not Barak).

A UN agency, two years ago fond that Iraq did indeed possess these weapons. It was news at the time, but not from any major source.

George Bush and the world’s leading intelligence agencies present more credibility to me than those who have not even answered the probable explanation that Iraq divested itself of WMD in the months of posturings before we attacked.

George Bush has come under continuous attack from the left-wing groups just as Ronald Reagan did. Left wingers cannot stand decisiveness, masculinity, or nationalism.

most radiccal liberals lie as readily as Islamists.
