Syria is ready to break off its close links with Iran if America gives it financial and military backing, a former Israeli diplomat involved in unofficial peace talks has revealed to The Sunday Telegraph.

I take it they want better weapons to use against Israel.

IMO this means Syria thinks the American DOS is enough of a bunch of patsies to finance and arm our enemies.

The day they empty the Bekaa Valley, round up Hezbos, and toss them in the slammer is the day I believe Syria is ready to cooperate.
