NYT shocked to find a politician instead of a virgin (Code Pink/MoveOn under Obama's bus?)

NYT shocked to find a politician instead of a virgin

The New York Times editorial board went to bed with a virgin and woke up with a … well, a pro, in milder terms, or so they seem to imply in today’s unhappy missive.  The editorial castigates Obama for his replacement of just about everything he has professed from January 2007 to May 2008 with his all-new, 50%-more-”centery” agenda that rejects everything that made him attractive to the Left in the first place.  And they wonder where it will all stop:

Senator Barack Obama stirred his legions of supporters, and raised our hopes, promising to change the old order of things. He spoke with passion about breaking out of the partisan mold of bickering and catering to special pleaders, promised to end President Bush’s abuses of power and subverting of the Constitution and disowned the big-money power brokers who have corrupted Washington politics.

Now there seems to be a new Barack Obama on the hustings. First, he broke his promise to try to keep both major parties within public-financing limits for the general election. His team explained that, saying he had a grass-roots-based model and that while he was forgoing public money, he also was eschewing gold-plated fund-raisers. These days he’s on a high-roller hunt.

Shock #1: Obama wants money, and scads of it.  What the Times forgets to mention is that Obama the Reformer doesn’t just want to raise a lot of money, but that he also wants to avoid any limit on spending it.  I don’t want to rain any more disillusionment on the Times, but that’s really the bigger part of the betrayal on reform, and hardly any of the media has mentioned it.

*snip*

The new Barack Obama has abandoned his vow to filibuster an electronic wiretapping bill if it includes an immunity clause for telecommunications companies that amounts to a sanctioned cover-up of Mr. Bush’s unlawful eavesdropping after 9/11.

Shock #2: Obama won’t obstruct a bipartisan compromise that got 80 votes for cloture in the Senate.  It would have been a lost cause anyway — Russ Feingold and Chris Dodd only got 13 other votes for the filibuster — but also, Obama doesn’t need the Code Pink/MoveOn vote any longer.  In fact, this sends a clear signal that Obama considers them a millstone rather than a life preserver at this stage of the campaign. Besides, where else will they go — to Nader?  How well did that work in 2000?

The ***new*** Barack Obama is the old Barack Obama. I don’t see any difference, do you? I was trained to spot BS a mile away.

Oh, haven’t you heard?

He’s changed his position of being a black man to being a white man, emphasizing his white mother, white features and upbringing by his white grandparents.

Believe all this angst by the left is intentional, planned and nothing but a ruse. Everyone knows that the false messiah can't get elected on the backs of blacks and leftists alone. He predictably moved to the center to troll for the votes of “independents” and “moderates.” How anyone could believe what he's saying at this point is beside me. Politicians and habitual liars are two phrases that are synonymous but the false messiah has taken it to another level. The left knows full well that if he gets elected he will finally be able to show his true colors and the one color that will shine brightly in an Obama administration is “red.”

What I find unique about this election is that while Obama has the hard left in his pocket and can now move to the center, McCain by no means has the hard right convincingly in his camp. This could pose major problems for him in that by going to far to the center he could further alienate conservatives who are already leery of some of his proposals, i.e. illegal aliens, cap ‘n’ trade, etc. So in my opinion Obama does have a major tactical advantage at this point. This would evaporate if conservatives united behind McCain to stop this socialist/marxist from becoming president.

Careful there, O’Bambi! You haven’t been nominated yet, and while you’re sliding to the center, your very close rival can still take your spot on the left.
And it’s the left who raised you up, the left who will be nominating.
Slumming through the ‘rat sites, one detects a rumble of displeasure with this overrotated combination double-axle full-twist double-salcow toe-loop with mustard and relish. So think about it, Big B: you didn’t finish behind the Eight Belles but if you’re not careful you’re going to land on your ankles.

I guess we now have definitive proof that all the &*%$ that the country has turned hard left is Barbra Streisand.

Politicians and habitual liars are two phrases that are synonymous

Which explains why most politicians are lawyers, formally trained in the art of deception. Most lies are discovered in the end so why is lying is such acceptable behavior? The only time it's partially illegal is the tiny fraction of time someone is under oath. Everyone should be "under oath" all the time. There is never a time lying is a good thing.

I can't see conservatives uniting behind McCain since he is the real centrist Democrat in this race. Conservatives will vote against Obama but they aren't going to vote specifically for McCain. Letting the left elect an ineffective leftist along the lines of Carter may be the better option because it sets up the swing to elect a conservative next time. At least he's an optimist by nature and not a vain dictator-in-waiting like Hillary.

A rather nasty case of genital herpes?

No, that was Clinton. With Obama, you'll just wake up stinking like cigarettes.

Add: Iraq.

After literally lunching his campaign on cut-and-run withdrawal from Iraq, he has since thrown that campaign promise, along with it's supporters, under the bus.

His bus should be named "Flip Flop I".

He’s changed his position of being a black man to being a white man, emphasizing his white mother, white features and upbringing by his white grandparents.

Like always, it's smoke and mirrors with almost all politicians.

Yep, after throwing all of his white relatives under the bus, they are back now.

He's not through with code pink and MoveOn, he still has them in his camp.

You don't have to look real close to see the tire marks on his mother and grandparents from their stint under the bus.

That's the only thing that changes, is the tire marks. Ditto for Medea and Jodie et al.

Although it's hard to tell with them, they already look like forty miles of back roads.

I thought it quite funny when they tricked Hilliary to meet with them back some time ago.

They pretended they were going to make nice with her, and she ended up walking out scowling at them. Priceless!
