Where’s the Letters of Marque?

Private ships can augment the Coast Guard and Navy with an immense net.

The United States, since the Treaty of Paris of 1858, has only issued one letter of Marque and Reprisal, and that was to the crew of a Goodyear Blimp sub-hunting in World War II. What the Coast Guard wants is you to be eyes and ears and call them in. There are programs that are calling in support from the Auxiliary and from the general public.
