A three-judge panel of the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of FairLDS, Scott Gordon, and Allen Wyatt and against Sandra Tanner and Utah Lighthouse Ministry.
This lawsuit was an effort to limit free speech by making an online parody websites legally actionable. The case was previously thrown out in summery judgment by the Tenth Circuit Court for the District of Utah, but Mrs. Tanner appealed.

[The wheels of justice grind slowly; it has taken just over three years to get to this point. I have no doubt that Sandra Tanner will choose to view this decision as an injustice (rather than justice) and to play the victim. It will be interesting to see how UTLM reacts to todays decision. I can report, however, that in the Wyatt household there is much joy.]
But you realize what this says about FAIR and FARM as well as the LDS don’t you? They couldn’t win a fair fight on the Internet with the Tanners, so they were forced to go the route of subterfuge and deceit. It speaks a lot about the Mormon church.
Very nice summary.
This ruling has nothing to do with free speech, it has everything to do with the keeping the ldsers alive and kicking, alive and fooling.
Ex-Mormons have lampooned the LDS Church for years
You can click on the above banner for but one good example of this.
LOL!
It just goes to show how dishonest Mormons are about their own religion.
What FAIR did was downright dishonest.
I'm rather surprised that YOU posted this. If I were still a Mormon I would have been embarrassed by what FAIR did.
It just goes to show you how low the Mormons will sink to hide their religion from the light of truth.
Congratulations.
This was a Pyhrric victory for you. Enjoy it.
Great interview with Sandra Tanner:

Wicked.
I think it was a wonderful thing and exposed the Tanners for the money grubbers they are.
Go for it and have fun. It is a wonderful thing to live in a free country. Try not to be bitter simply because it was your sacred ox that got gored on the Constitution.
Obviously, the trial courts and the appeals courts can see right through your arguments. Parody sites are merely an exercise of free speech. You need to learn that.
“We the undersigned [sixty-two (62) residents of Palmyra NY], have been acquainted with the Smith family, for a number of years, while they resided near this place, and we have no hesitation in saying, that we consider them destitute of that moral character, which ought to entitle them to the confidence of any community. They were particularly famous for visionary projects, spent much of their time in diggings for money which they pretended was hid in the earth; and to this day, large excavations may be seen in the earth, not far from their residence, where they used to spend their time in digging for hidden treasures. Joseph Smith, Senior, and his son, Joseph, were in particular, considered entirely destitute of moral character, and addicted to vicious habits.” E.D. Howe, Mormonism Unvailed, Zanesville, Ohio, 1834, p. 261
After months of reading the deceits, misdirection, and falsehoods from LDS apologists at FR, it is not even surprising that certain mormons would call this LDS/FAIR thuggery (which was upheld by judges) ‘a good ruling’. Deceiving is how Mormonism was founded, and by deceit it continues the infection. Christians know whom is the father of lies, a murderer from the start. Such tactics as LDS/FAIR apologetics use prove from what spirit mormonism is spawned.
this only goes to reinforce the mormon methodology of deception, lying and silencing opponents. Cybersquatting is a vile practice to the truly free practice of the 1st Amendment on the internet. Such a celebration on your part is not worthy of FR, but more appropriate at the Democratic Underground.
ROFLOL! Sandra Tanner’s little attempt to silence free speech was absolutely reprehensible. Your comments are truly worthy of DU.
Who let the dog out
Your current comment is definitely worthy of DU. Perhaps you would be happier there than among free people on Free Republic.
This coming from the mormon attack dog who’s sole purpose is shutting down threads that present the truth about mormonism....
Now that is an interesting personal attack. Don’t you ever get tired of violating FR rules?
Bark, bark, bark
Ever provide real commentary?
Yes, I have. On this very thread. I have also observed your whining. When are you going to be able to say something other than “mormons are evil” garbage that usually pervades your posts?
