Muslim nuclear physicist sues over freedom of rights

An Egyptian-born nuclear physicist is suing the US Department of Energy over the revocation of his security clearance.

Moniem El-Ganayni worked from 1990 as a scientist at the Bettis Laboratory, a contract lab for the energy department near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, that works on nuclear propulsion. El-Ganayni, a US citizen since 1988, is an active member of the local Islamic community...[snip]

In May, the energy department revoked El-Ganayni's security clearance, in part because he was suspected of “conflicting allegiances”. Shortly thereafter, he was fired from the laboratory. El-Ganayni's suit, filed with the help of the American Civil Liberties Union, claims that the Department of Energy has violated his rights of free speech and freedom from discrimination.

Give him a nice cash settlement and send him on his way. He doesn't have a constitutional right to work with nuclear materials.

“conflicting allegiances”

I don’t trust Muzsie’s, but he just might have a case here.

Good move! I'm glad some in our country still have BALLS! Revoke him and fire his butt. “you can always trust a Muslim to be a Muslim”. Let him sell hot dogs or drive a taxi, but keep him away from things requiring a security clearance.

The ACLU is all over this, but not a peep out of them when DC, Chicago, etc. continue to violate the second amendment...

Maybe if we say that “Doctors” in Chicago are being stopped from performing abortions with guns, they’ll jump.

I doubt that any court is going to order the Department of Energy to reinstate this joker’s security clearance, as the issuance of that clearance is at the sole discretion of the DOE, and can be revoked for any reason whatsoever.

Nobody that is granted a clearance has any guarantee as to how long they will be permitted to work under said clearance.

I would be surprised if this suit even makes it to trial.

Wouldn’t a lot depend on what his local islamist community’s activities actually were?

He has been an outspoken critic of the Iraq war and the US government’s treatment of Muslims, and was particularly critical of government efforts to recruit informants, according to his lawyer Keith Whitson, a partner at Schnader Harrison Segal and Lewis in Pittsburgh.

Sounds like a valid reason to revoke his SC.

This particular "Achmed" started up a Muslim prison outreach, where he handed out tracts to inmates.

One tract was a fairy tale account of an admirable ant or bee or something that blew itself up for the good of the colony.

At that point the prison leadership got heavily involved in warning the DOE about poor innocent little Achmed.

We will find
sooner of later
if Achmed’ll pray
to a glowing crater

Case or no case, wait until the first Muslim becomes the commanding officer of a nuclear armed sub.

Be interesting if, at first hint of 'problems', the XO experimented to find out if a 22" turbaned CO's head could fit through a 21" torpedo tube at cruising depth.

Just wait until the US has it’s first Muslim President. It’s enough to make your blood run cold.
