This is an incorrect quote and it gives the Obamalytes reason to defame FreeRepublic. You are just providing ammunition for the likes of Dr. Damielle Allen.
The correct quote is:
"In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging," he laments. "I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

The full quote has been given above in early replies.
There are those who read the full quote and interpret it as Obama leaning in the direction of standing alongside Muslims if “ugly” situations come about regarding them.
It is realistic to project that if he is elected, Muslims will cry “ugly” as soon as possible. Then with whom will Obama stand? The Muslims of course for they have memorized this full quote at the front of their brains.
To those of us who interpret the full quote per above, there is no embarrassment to us.

This is an incorrect quote
Will injustices in America ever go away completely? No. We live in an imperfect world. Therefore, will the situation ever arise by which Muslims in the United States will cry out for B. Hussein to lean in their favor. Of course. And will he?
Did you mean this sentence?
