Most of the responses on this thread are a good example of why FR detractors are able to portray this site as hate filled and FReepers as bigots.
And why do I have a feeling that the people here would be the first to condemn and call for violence against muslims desecrating a Bible, that many of you are devout “christians”?
It doesn’t matter to me but when FR is criticized or attacked in the media, people shouldn’t be surprised.
So you're saying it's wrong for me to be bigoted against a bunch of people who say they're commanded by God to either convert, enslave, or kill me?
Why I had no idea how closed minded I was being. Thanks for pointing up the error of my ways.....
Yea, that's sarcasm by the way.

There is a difference. Our God is bigger than the book He wrote. While I would not like to see Bibles desecrated, doing so would harm neither my God nor my faith, and I would be under no compunction to do violence to the person who desecrated the Bible.
In fact, my religion would tell me to pray for the individual who did so, not hunt him down and kill him. The Bible is indeed holy to me, but I do not worship it.
“this site as hate filled and FReepers as bigots.”
Do you even know the definition of the word “bigot”??
Hating a murdering, child-molesting, cult is not being a bigot. Hating murder is a good thing. Hating child-molesters is a good thing. Hating women beaters is a good thing. Hating someone who wants you dead because you refuse to take part in their cult is a good thing.
You can support that murdering cult all you want but don’t dare tell the rest of us we must submit to your way of thinking. This is America, not the ignorant and illiterate Middle East.
