The source is pathetically lacking in gravitas.
There is a significant question of money.
The polling is stable on Rasmussen showing a small Obama lead. Gallup says tied, also very stable. Both show very strong GOP support for McCain and almost no 3rd party support.
Given that last item, zero 3rd party support, there are no votes to seek there. He has to go after the middle that are leaning Obama, and to do that he has to have the money to pound that message out on the airwaves.
As always, money decides it.
