Sorry about the source but it is hard to find a non AP source.

The perp was last seen on a parking lot outside of Busch Stadium is St. Louis. He borrowed a cell phone to make a call from a stranger. The man who had the cell phone said the perp gave the cell phone back after he perp made his call and by time cell phone owner got home there was 4 or 5 policemen waiting for him at his home. So the FBI must have a tap on the phone number the perp called from the borrowed cell phone.

I believe the 8 killings have occurred in the last 5. days.

This is an older picture of him - his face is much more thin now and aged probably from the meth use.

America’s Most Wanted

Police in Illinois say that Nicholas T. Sheley has killed at least eight people in two states. They say the violent and armed man is on the run, and he will go to extreme lengths to stay out of police custody.

The manhunt for Nick Sheley kicked off in late June 2008. In the early morning hours of Friday, June 27, authorities say they tracked Nicholas Sheley in a stolen vehicle that he ditched, and then fled on foot into a cornfield near Harmon, Ill.

Cops say Nick Sheley got away, despite extreme efforts to contain him, including a helicopter and a massive foot search.

I am trying to find a non-AP source for a current picture of him. They are out there but all seem to be AP sources.

Time for Illinois and Missouri citizens to lock and load, and end this animal’s rampage before any other innocents are killed.

A timeline of events leading to Tuesday's search for Nicholas T. Sheley, a 28-year-old convicted felon police say may be connected to a string of eight recent killings in Illinois and Missouri. Sheley has not been charged in any of the deaths. Police are calling him a person of interest.

SATURDAY, JUNE 14

A man forces his way into a 90-year-old woman's home in Whiteside County in northern Illinois, takes some money and forces her to write out checks. A warrant is eventually issued for Nicholas T. Sheley's arrest on home invasion charges.

THURSDAY, JUNE 26

The body of 93-year-old Robert Reed is found stuffed in the trunk of his 2003 Buick Century in Sterling, Ill. Autopsy shows he died of blunt force trauma. Police later identify Sheley, also from Sterling, as a person of interest in the death.

FRIDAY, JUNE 27

An Arkansas couple, Tom and Jill Estes, check in to a Comfort Inn in the St. Louis suburb of Festus, Mo.

SATURDAY, JUNE 28

Four people later found dead in a Rock Falls apartment, about 2 miles from Sterling, are last seen on this date.

SUNDAY, JUNE 29

10:30 p.m. Tom and Jill Estes are seen leaving a graduation party.

Midnight: A hotel guest finds the couple's two small dogs wandering in the hotel parking lot, unhurt but covered in blood. The couple are missing.

MONDAY, JUNE 30

10:30 a.m.: The bodies of a man and a woman are found behind a gas station in Festus, Mo., about a mile and a half from the hotel. Police say they have obvious injuries.

Around noon: The body of a man is found beside a trash bin behind a Galesburg Hy-Vee Food Store. Authorities believe it may be that of a missing 65-year-old Galesburg man whose car was stolen and later found in Missouri.

4 p.m.: The bodies of four people are discovered in a Rock Falls apartment building. They include two men, a woman and a child.

Late night: Sheley believed to be in Collinsville, Ill., across the border from St. Louis.

TUESDAY, JULY 1

Authorities announce a $25,000 reward in their search for Sheley, saying he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police search a Collinsville apartment building for a person of interest the Festus, Mo., killings. No one is found.

Autopsies are scheduled for Galesburg victim and for the four Rock Falls victims.

Thank you for your help in finding more info.

The last sighting of him was at Busch Stadium in St. Louis on Monday evening. They found the truck of one of his victims in Collinsville IL on Monday also.

The family of 4 he killed was his first victims (one was an infant or toddler) and they lived in the same apt complex as he did.

Family members identified the victims found behind a gas station in Festus as Thomas and Jill Estes of Sherwood, Ark., who were attending a graduation and family reunion.

“It was a close family,” said Thomas’ mother, Mazie. “They went with all their sisters and cousins there for the reunion.”

Marie Estes said that two dogs found nearby belonged to her son and daughter-in-law, and guessed that “they were probably walking the dogs.”

Time for Illinois ... citizens to lock and load...

Generally not a legal option.

Generally not a legal option.

Sure it is; as long as you have a FOID card and proof of ownership of the weapon. Beyond that it's making sure you take the perp out in a manner that speaks self defense.
