Does this title/position even really exist?

Europe's a continent. Lots of dirt and rocks.

Wouldn't the proper title be more along the lines of "Commander in Chief, Atlantic Fleet" (CINCLANTFLT or something like that)?

Admiral McCain was appointed head of the court of inquiry into the incident. The problem is much of the data and logs suddenly disappeared. Sixth Fleet Commander upon receiving a message launched aircraft and within an hour had to recall them. There I believe were some in the Johnson administration hoped the LIBERTY would sink and improve their chance of concealing their involvement. Remember, they even shot up the lifeboats and the ship thanks to a crew of CTs and skipper sailed backward for 700 miles into port.
