Hes posturing for a starring role in the Obama administration. I can see how THAT conversation would go:
Obamie: Okay Mueller, we see that you can play the game and are willing to grovel, but can you go the extra mile? Look, if you want a guaranteed spot in the administration you're going to have to do a little "W" bashing. You know what I mean. You need to be "disallusioned" and find Bush to be "contradictory", so much so that you've considered resigning...that kind of thing. So whaddya say? Are you willing to go the extra mile and sling some mud? Cause if you ain't, I got a hundred more that can fill that AG spot...

The next McClellan?
But, I'd venture to say that he'll wait until after the Bush administration has run its course before he goes and writes a book demonizing the Bush policies and the SCOTUS decisions.

Hes posturing for a starring role in the Obama administration. Mueller wants to show Obama his file so he can keep his job. The Hoover maneuver.
