Dennis Prager writes about why he has endorsed John McCain today. The difference can be summed up in one word: Obama. It wouldn't matter much as Prager sees it, if the Democratic Party nominee was a liberal. America can prosper, even survive under a liberal President. Can it prosper and survive under a leftist President? The Democratic Party is the furthest Left its been in generations. Most conservatives don't like much of McCain's domestic policies (apart from taxes and judges). But none of them like in the least the policies a President Obama would pursue. For the record, I personally won't vote for McCain. But Obama scares me that much that I would gladly want to see him defeated in November. The risk to America that an Obama presidency would inflict upon this country is something no decent American wants to contemplate. People are free to choose what they think of McCain. But I know for sure that an Obama presidency would lead to a very different kind of America than the one most of us have known our entire lives.

In the end, Democrats are the best reason to vote for Republicans.
Actually, I don't vote FOR Republicans. I vote AGAINST Democrats -- by marking the little boxes next to Republican names on the ballot.
Sad, but that's the way it has become for me since Republicans have completely abandoned Reagan conservatism.

Mr. Prager is right.
"And Barack Obama is at the left of that left-wing party."
I don't want Louis Farrakhan and Jeremiah Wright having an influence on how my taxpayer dollars are spent.
The unborn will continue to be systematically annihilated under Obama's abortion policies.
Obama's Stalinist policies toward gun-owners will also result in a large number of tragedies similar to the Waco incident.
I see no safety or freedom under Obama's jackboot.
That is why I am voting for McCain.

I love Dennis but this is hard to swallow - voting for mindless, nut less, McPain. It always seems to be the “lessor of two evils”. The problem is the candidates get worse and worse each year. The good ones either get bad press, no attention or run out of money. In this situation, the media elected McPain.

I suppose in the end enough conservatives will do that to keep Obama from the White House - not out of love of McCain - they detest him - but because they love America more. That's the reason to do it and I agree its a sound one.

I really like, respect and have gleaned a lot of my values from Dennis Prager.
I'm waiting though to see who he picks for VP.
I can't - and won't vote for two McCains.

I agree McCain isn't the kind of candidate I wanted. But when you look at the other fellow - he's just a radical leftist opposed to the values our country was founded on. Obama is no John F. Kennedy. In a different era, I would have no problem voting for Kennedy. But in our time, its unthinkable for the American people to put Obama in the White House. We have to make them understand he's not a mainstream liberal but a fringe leftist.

However noble their intentions, conservatives who do not vote for John McCain will be morally complicit in what happens to America during an Obama presidency.
Sorry....I like ya Dennis, but McCain's losing in November will be HIS fault, as well as the fault of the country clubbers and the media that got him the nomination. You can't blame the electorate when a bad candidate loses.

Did he ever tell you NOT to think for yourself?
This is an opinion piece. Prager stated his opinion. You are free to reject his opinion and reject McCain. You are not free, however, to avoid the consequences of your choices.

Greetings goldstategop:
We have to make them understand he's not a mainstream liberal but a fringe leftist.
Fringe leftist is quite an understatement. A Marxist-Socialist hiding beneath the cloak of democRat liberalism is a better description.

In this election, the old saying “ I’ll vote for the lesser of both evils “ is true.

I am off the GOP drug and I intend to stay that way. If Obama wins then so be it. If we don't have the courage to rise up and put the commie rat and the leftist congress in its place then we deserve whatever we get. I believe we would have to fight McCain every bit as much as we would Obama. Thinking that by electing McCain our country's slide into the abyss will be stopped is utter fantasy. Our problems are much bigger than either of these two candidates. As citizens we have shirked our duty by going along for the sake of getting along. We have been poisoned with political correctness, and we often have tossed our feelings into the closet because we are afraid our character might be questioned. Well the heck with all the posturing and pandering. No more GOP bs and rationalist heroin. Its time to step into the sunshine and do what truly needs to be done, and electing John McCain isn't going to help this country. And Obama? Well, he is just another piece of crap that needs to be shovelled out of the barn.
To: goldstategop
Ok, I feel the need to add to this. Denis Prager may be coming along but coming along with a vote isn't enough. I full expected conervatives to bring their votes. In reality McCain IS a true conservative but more importantly a great American. I'm not going to get into the reasons I've been a McCain fan for years. This isn't just about voting for McCain. There are about two more months before the nomination and the public funds. In this time McCain needs all the financial help he can get to offset the Obama numbers.
Please, give everything you can to the McCain campaign and/or the RNC. I am an enlisted military man raising a young family with two young children and I have given more than is prudent for me by any measure. The only way to expose the lie of Obama is through money.
I recommend donating to the McCain campaign for the next 2 months then switching over to the RNC when he accepts public funding. For those of you who cannot stomach that and would risk knowingly putting the nation into the hands of the likes of Obama please consider donating to the RNC or at least find a 527 or third party group (NRA for example) that will be attacking Obama.
If you believe, as I do, that Obama is a threat to this republic please put your money where your mouth is. The Obama fanatics are absolutely off their rocker and the money is rolling in from the anti-American. Most members of this forum know the American public is woefully uninformed and an Obama cash bonanza will likely mean they will in fact be fooled. Don't let it happen. I cannot bear the thought of serving under this abomination. Please fight to keep it from happening!
To: Travis McGee
NO, I WILL NOT HOLD MY NOSE and vote for McCain.
I would rather put a gun to my head.
I will vote Constitution Party.
Chuck Baldwin is on the ballot in Illinois.
