Victim of Rampart scandal arrested after high-speed chase

Interesting little piece of trivia about the Rampart scandal: the majority of the officers involved were officers the department declined to hire. They were then hired anyway, despite the department’s objections, by the city’s personnel department which was carrying out a federal court consent decree. So, we can pretty much thank the federal court for the scandal though, for some reason, they’ve declined to appear to accept their award.

This is very interesting.

I think there is more to this but I’m not sure what.
