What is interesting though is that Jospeh Smith did not use the urim and thummim in a revelatory capacity (in the manner desrbied by St. Augustine, and John Crysostom) but grabbed a Hebrew dictionary when presented with the Kinderhook plates. Oh...Smith took the bait, alright! It is evidenced by your own admission that he grabbed a Hebrew dictionary! That fact is interesting, in itself, because the plates contain no Hebrew!!
By Clayton's own notes, Smith translated that the plates contained ancient history, including that of a descendant of Ham.
But...you are right in that Smith did not use the peep stone this time.
But, still...Smith got trapped and was proven a fraud!
