While the San Jose Mercury News reports that middle-school girls want to look like top models at their graduation ceremonies, principals apparently still frown on the “Lolita look.”
Education writer Joanne Jacobs reports that while “at one middle school graduation, halter tops are okay, spaghetti straps aren’t. At another, it’s the reverse. Strapless dresses and high heels are banned at most intermediate schools....

Little girls, even middle school age, should look like girls, not like adult women out for a night on the town. And being over exposed or “slutty” look should be discouraged.
Abolish schools. Problem solved.
There never used to be middle school ceremonies because adults didn’t want kids to think their education was over before high school.
What happened?
The 'raincoat on a pickle' set wanted them to have a chance to walk across the stage without someone hollering "mommy".
A couple of weeks ago in the mail I received a "pre-K" graduation announcement, complete with professional photo of the child in a cap and gown.
Ohhh, just wait. Somebody, somewhere, will put a cap-n-gown on a newborn and invite you to a “graduation from the womb”...

Abolish *public* schools. Problem solved.
Wow! High school graduation will be boring by the time it comes.
I’m against all schools, except in case of absolute, dire necessity.
