I chose to study and write a report on the Huichol Indians of Mexico in an anthropology class some years back. They are pretty fascinating. A proud, very friendly people with a rich belief system and way of life that has its own complex structure and that is utterly different from ours. Their art is also pretty interesting.

Oooh, my husband and I bought one of their string paintings on our honeymoon. It’s beautiful. Also a beaded jaguar head, now that I think of it, but it’s wrapped up in storage ‘cause the beads tend to fall off. :-/
