New information could help the woman charged in a deadly school bus accident.
Her attorney said there is new DNA evidence that could clear Olga Franco as the driver of a van that crashed into a school bus in February killing four children.
At a hearing Friday, attorneys for Franco said they have DNA evidence that proves a man was driving the van.
They said DNA taken from the driver's side airbag shows it came from an unidentified male.
Franco has told police that her boyfriend, Francisco Sangabriel-Mendoza, was driving the van.
Police have yet to locate him.
Police have yet to locate him.Call mexico, sure he is there.
Maybe the DNA came from the guy that installed the airbag.
In the latest news from Spain, Generalissimo Franco is still dead.
He may have been in the vehicle, but witnesses did not report seeing him fleeing the scene. Witnesses also reported her as driving and she was reported extricated from the drivers seat. As a juror I would put more credibility on that than some unconfirmed DNA test. She was an accompliss to a homicide but regardless she is an illegal and should have the book thrown at her for that reason alone.
Or one of the firemen/policemen who extricated her.
This information comes from the woman’s attorneys. Note that they didn’t say that Franco’s DNA was not on that bag, just that there was male DNA.
If Franco’s DNA were absent or in significantly smaller proportion to the male DNA, the attorneys would have said so. They didn’t. This smacks of spin aimed at tainting the jury pool.
Amazing how logic will overcome legalese every time.
Excellent summation.
