Hillary's Price -- Mrs. Clinton presents her bill [Rat Spat Alert]
Wall Street Journal ^ | June 27, 2008 | Brendan Miniter

Posted on 06/29/2008 6:42:16 AM PDT by Zakeet

Hillary Clinton hasn't forgotten that her defeat came not at the hands of voters but because of her opponent's ability to out-organize her in caucus states. By some measures, she equaled or surpassed Barack Obama in the popular vote. Nonetheless, Mrs. Clinton has officially rallied behind Mr. Obama in hopes of giving Democrats their best shot to win a presidential election since 1996.

But she has a price. Mrs. Clinton showed up in Unity, N.H. for a symbolic event with Mr. Obama and the downpayment seems to begin with $10 million in cash – the amount her campaign still owes outside vendors. She has told Mr. Obama that unless he helps her pay off that debt, she just won't have the time to campaign for him this summer. She also told him she needs a jet to ferry her about the country. Supporters even prevailed upon Mr. Obama to write a personal $2,300 check – the maximum legal limit – to Mrs. Clinton's campaign. Most of all, Mrs. Clinton wants him to open his innovative and powerful fundraising network to her by sending out an email blast to his million-strong donor list seeking contributions to retire her campaign debt.

[Barry is resisting because] once Team Hillary is inside the walls of his fundraising network, her staff would be able to record the name and details of everyone who responds to the appeal – creating her own list for 2012.

Ubama is taking that old saw ‘keep your friends close, and your enemeies closer’ to heart.

It’s pretty clear they detest each other and their true motives are shining through:

1) Ubama wants Hilldog supporter votes

2) Hilldog wants anyone but herself to pay her debts

And both will do anything to get same

i wonder if hillary actually put any of her own money into her campaign. she simply LOANED the money.

i wonder what shape she would be in if all her donors came back now and said: “it was only a loan... can we have our money paid back now?”

Oh. You mean she just wants her own money back by way of Barry's supporters bailing her out? Why doesn't Bill simply do some more lobbying for foreign governments like he did for the Ukraine, and "work off" Hillary's debt? I suspect that's where Hillary's money came from in the first place.

Did hillary get more votes than Barak?
If so, why was he “selected not elected”?

the analyses that i saw showed that it depended on which states were allowed into the count.

with florida he was still ahead.

obama wasn’t on the ballot in michigan but if it were allowed, then hillary won the popular vote.

if....

I can’t decide whether this is inspired by the world-class greed of Hitlery, or the shameless and brazen chutzpah of Bill.

Or maybe this is where we really do get “two for the price of one.”

I think Bill gets a lot more pleasure from extorting money than actually "working" for it.

Besides, for the Clintons politics has always had a certain asset value.

I have to admit, that this chutzpah is at elite levels.

Obama is basically going to give multi millions of dollars to Hillary Clinton, who spent multi millions of dollars stating that Obama could not win the presidential election.

In turn Obama will pay off the bills that paid for this assault on him while Hillary will fill her personal coffers back up with millions for several book deals. LMAO..you can’t make this silt up.

...and it doesn’t end there...the Clinton’s will NEVER fully commit to helping Obama and then will hope and connive from behind the scenes that he loses so that Hillary can again run...RICH.

Excellent point and well said. I've been thinking along the same lines but could could not come up with a way to couch it the way that you did.

I heard that her total debts were $22 million!

I believe that includes the $10 or so million she loaned to the campaign, plus vendor debt.

She is probably extorting Barry for only the $10 mil, so she can put it back in her ample pants-suit pocket, - needs to do so before an August deadline - then screw the vendors in typical Clintoon fashion!

originally when Hillary put in 5 million, there was so much speculation that it was co mingled funds of bills and that it may be unlawful because of how it was raised. Since that flap, there has been no word of any investigation. Now I wonder where she got (i think the number was) $22 million dollars being a state senator and writing a book that netted 3 million.
That shorts her quite a bit, there should be some campaign financing inquiries into where she came up with the rest of the dough before she is eligible to receive it back.

If O'Connor had resigned in '00, McCain-Feingold - if not, indeed, Buckley v. Valeo - would almost certainly have been overturned.

In which case, I wonder who else would have run for the Republican nomination for POTUS?

The fact is that 2008 isn't over yet and to quote the evil one "It isn't over until the lady in the pantsuit says it is"!!!
