Sad basis for a vote I admit, but if the fact is an Obama packed court will certainly shift radically to the left and remain there for many decades.
That line of thinking is a never ending slippery slope. The next election could produce A GOP candidate who is slightly more socialistic than the the last and yet some how is perceived to be preferable than the socialist Democrat. The end result is another step towards socialism as has been happening for many years. The irony is conservatives are always expected to sacrifice their core principles for the sake of "bipartisanship" and "compromise" while the socialists never sacrifice one principle. Hence the gradual slide over the years.
At some point it is necessary to say "no more" and hold a strong conservative line of instead of becoming the proverbial frog slowly cooking to death in the socialist stew without ever knowing. That time is now for me. I won't support socialists from either party.

With McCain, you have about a 50% chance that hell nominate a true conservative to the Court. With Obama, you have a 0% chance.
Let's see now, McCain has sided with his socialist comrades on a number of issues at the expense of Conservatives. The Socialists control Congress. The President can only nominate but Congress has the final say on who is appointed. Chances are McCain will try the old "bipartisanship/compromise " approach that has worked so well for him in the past but has been a disaster for the Conservative cause.
