kids will be kids......if we locked them away to keep them safe, they would turn out to be robots....God bless this young man and his youthful indiscretion, and may God bless his family.....

I cannot, however, feel sympathy for ignorance, fatal or not.

That's ironic.

Nicely said, Arkansas.

It amazes me the cold, heartless dispassion I see here so often.

Maybe they will go and picket the boy’s funeral, as Fred Phelps does for people that HE thinks deserved to die, too?

I agree. And I can say with all confidence that I never ignored multiple warning signs

But can you say you never double posted? Hmmm?

You’re in my prayers.

Seeing that you can express compassion for this family, at a time when you could easily be forgiven for thinking of no one’s pain but your own, says a lot about you.

God has obviously already blessed you, but I pray he gives you the blessing you’re most in need of now.

I’m making up little certificates for all those who were “Good Carers” today.

I'm guesing that I will not receive many votes from the 'Stuart Smalley' contingent on this thread.

Am just so sorry for the sadness; pain and suffering brought to bear for so many in the world; particuarly as it relates to loss of children. Both of these senarios are toturous for one's mind; heart and soul.

Am sorry for your loss; and that of the family of this child. Incredible trauma. . .

"It amazes me the cold, heartless dispassion I see here so often."

people on the internet can be very crude.....they would never think of saying such things to people's faces, but as long as no one knows them, the sky's the limit....

hang in there....most people do care.....

“When I was 17, or any age before or after for that matter, I never made a decision that caused my head to be removed from my body.”

You probably don’t have that good of a memory.

“Whether that makes me smarter, luckier, more cautious or blessed, I will take it.”

Probably a combination of lucky and blessed.

You have sociopathic tendencies.

Sorry, you got me there. I thought the quote was coming from FoxNews. I did not look close enough. I would not have posted if I had seen that. I know AP is not welcomed anymore here at FR. Sorry again.

If the roller coaster came flying off the tracks and landed on this young man, I would feel completely different. I cannot, however, feel sympathy for ignorance, fatal or not.

I agree. Compassion? Yes. Sympathy? No. Ignorance is what it is. Unnecessary and often expensive.

Yeah, it might not have been accident at all. Could have been a suicide.
