Thank you for joining nearly 1.2 million of your fellow Americans in signing the "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less" petition.

Congress has heard the message loud and clear, but your Member of Congress, Jim Marshall, has not signed the "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less" petition. This is why we need your help to declare this July 4th Energy Independence Day!

Today, Friday, June 27, Congress is scheduled to recess for the Fourth of July and will return to Washington, DC on July 7. During the 10-day recess, your Representative, Jim Marshall will be holding townhall meetings, attending parades, and talking with constituents in your area.

We encourage you to attend any one of these meetings to ask Representative Marshall why they haven't signed the "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less" petition. If possible, bring a video camera along to capture their answer. If you're unable to attend these meetings, be sure to either call or write Representative Marshall's office instead.

You can call Representative Marshall at (202) 225-6531 to learn where they will be holding a public meeting in your district.

Here are a few more steps you can take to make this July 4th Energy Independence Day:

Tell 5 friends about the "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less" petition Call your local talk radio show to urge Representative Marshall to sign the "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less" petition Write a letter to the editor to urge Representative Marshall to sign the "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less" petition Download and print this handout to distribute at your townhall meeting or parade You can find sample talking points, letter to the editor, and other action-oriented materials to guide you at www.americansolutions.com/EnergyDay .

This list is by no means exhaustive. In addition to getting Representative Marshall on record, we encourage you to create your own activities surrounding Energy Independence Day. Your Fourth of July parties, BBQ's, and neighborhood gatherings would be great opportunities to talk to your friends and family about the "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less" petition and ask them to sign it at www.AmericanSolutions.com/DrillNow.

Finally, after Energy Independence Day, email us your stories, photos, or videos to drillnow@americansolutions.com so we can highlight all of your hard work.

With your help, this Independence Day we will declare our energy independence. And we give our elected officials this choice:

Either take action to drill here and drill now for American oil or the American people will take action this fall.

Thanks again for joining the nearly 1.2 million Americans of the "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less" movement.

Sincerely,

Dave Ryan Executive Director American Solutions

If you live in Georgia's 8th district, contact Democrat Representative Jim Marshall. He has refused to sign the Drill Now petition that is on the House floor. Stop the Obstructionism. We are hurting at the pump and in the grocery stores!

Does anyone honestly think the Democrats care a tinkers damn about whether or not the people of America are hurting.

The Democratic party is the party of pain and pain to a Democrat is a political game to be constantly played against politically incorrect conservatives and independents who are not considered citizens in good standing.

Until the good folks of Georgia get down and out like the folks in Obamas Zimbabwe then nothing but the same old games of gotcha will party on dude.

Thats the liberal Democrat way, talk a good game and do nothing.

Democrats are purely politicians out for power. The threat of loosing power, might motivate them.

Sign the petition!

You may have provided a way to end some of bad behavior of our elected representatives. Please accept a very sincere thank you from me!

Politicians thrive on publicity, it is a trait they all share which can be used to nudge them in any direction you want them to go. Publicity can be favorable or unfavorable to a politician. Like training a dog or horse, we can reward desired behavior or withhold the reward for miscreant behavior. In either case, the key is in the publicity.

This is one way we can use their own behavior to point them in the direction we want them to go. Make the time available to go to places where they make appearances. After they are finished with their speech, approach them and introduce yourself and your friend who just happens to have the video camera ready. Then ask them if they mind being taped while you shake their hand. With an ego as big as theirs, you will probably never be turned away, unless you come on like a clown. Be professional, appearance counts here.

While you and your favorite politician are smiling for the camera, politely ask the question. and then while you step off camera, have your friend zoom in for the closeup of the politician delivering the answer.

Good or bad, whatever you get can be used to manipulate your subject. When you post the video to a blog or U-Tube, you get to tell your opinion to the public. If his answer favors your stance, applaud the answer, if not point out where the politician is wrong.

If enough of us do this over and over again, we can change how the miscreants behave and elect someone else when the offenders cannot be taught how to behave.

All Republicans should publicly challenge their Democrat rivals to sign the petition.

All Republicans should publicly challenge their Democrat rivals to sign the petition.

Especially the Red State, alleged conservative, "Blue Dog" Democrats. Make 'em sign, or the advertising starts in five minutes.

You know? I have thoughts about this method. It rings just like a rat plan. However, I am tired of the spineless pubes.

I guess your intent is what your motivator should be.

I'm not quite sure what you're saying, but if you mean that the Blue Doggies would like to sign a "drill now" petition to prove that their hearts are in the right place, I doubt that it would do them that much good, and we might be able to "smoke out" a few closet libs who would stick with the party line. Even worst casing it (since the Democrats are likely to retain control of Congress anyway) there could be a solid phalanx of Republicans and Blue Dogs on record as opposing the Dr. No wing of the Democrat Party.
