Mexicans urged to reclaim a piece of Texas

Mexicans are being encouraged to reclaim a piece of Texas, more than 150 years after they lost the Lone Star state to the United States. Texan estate agents are heading south of the border to drum up the interest in buying cut-price land and property in the foreclosure-hit state.
Thanks to a rising Mexican peso and an economy which is growing faster than that of the US, a country that has previously been looked on by America as a source of cheap labour is now seen as a potential source of rich investors.
A "Texas for Sale" sign and cowgirl-clad models greeted visitors to a recent property fair in Monterrey, Mexico, at which hundreds of Mexicans looked over lists of potential investment opportunities.
Virgilio Garza, a Monterrey developer, said he and his partners were considering investing $8 million in buying up foreclosed homes in Texas.
He told Bloomberg: "Texas is like our home. We believe there can be some opportunities."
Marco Ramirez, a Texas estate agent, said that residents of Monterrey, which is 150 miles from the Texas border, were his best hope of buying the 120 foreclosed properties on his books.
"Many of these people have children who are studying in the US. They've been renting or leasing and now it's a great time to buy."
America annexed Texas in 1845 after Texans gained independence from Mexico nine years earlier following the Battle of the Alamo.

You don’t understand because you are not a Texan.
JFK already gave part of Texas back to Mexico (El Chamizal).
why would we reclaim Mexico City?
Another 10 million people on welfare? No thanks
Ok, fine. But I have seen the mess created by illegal immigration when I lived in California.
Please don’t confuse businessmen with those crazies who were marching by the hundreds of thousands in the streets of Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, etc., on May Day in 2006.
Those reconquista-types with their anti-American banners and their absurd slogans made my blood boil just as hot as any native born, tenth generation Texan. My head nearly exploded watching those protests on TV and the Internet.
As I mentioned, I lived in California for a long time, and it didn’t start it’s decline because of legal immigration or foreign investment; in started going downhill rapidly because of massive illegal immigration (plus there are alot of Anglo moonbats in positions of power in the Golden State).
What is your opinion of your governor, Rick Perry?
Cheers.
My dear Matilda, you must be experience that time of the month. LOL!
What did I do to deserve a lecture from you? All I said is I feel strongly about Texas.
I know all about California. My husband was born and raised in Fresno, Ca. Heard of that place?
I don’t like Perry. What about your own Gov.? You guys had a golden opportunity out there when Davis was ousted and you threw it away with both fists all in the name of who can win sound bite tv, which how most people vote today.
Hahahahahahahahaha!!!
Ma’am, I’m not trying to give you a lecture. I like Texas, too! I admire the state and its people.
I had no role in the choosing of California’s governor....I’ve been living in the State of Maine for the last 16 years. If I still lived in California at the time of the recall, I would have voted for Tom McLintock, a solid conservative who will be heading for Congress this fall. Arnold is a disaster. He got elected because of name recognition and celebrity. Like you mentioned....sound bites. He’s actually worse than Grey Davis.
Maine’s governor has made Maine a sanctuary state.....he’s not much better than Perry.
I envy the fact that Texas has no state income tax. Maine’s is amongst the highest in America.
Yes, I’m familiar with Fresno. Texas is better.
Take care, and sorry if I offended.
Ping!
If you want on, or off this S. Texas/Mexico ping list, please FReepMail me.
much of the property being sold in deep south Texas is to Mexican nationals. I wanted to buy in South Padre Island, but, NO ENGLISH, is a big problem.
Oh lovely...they can rent out the homes to 20 illegals per location.
ping
More like ‘Come & Buy It’.
Muchas Gracias Jorge El Segundo.
“You should take it as a compliment that people in other countries would like to invest their money in the Lone Star State.”
Screw that! You know how much misery foreigners and Yankees have brought to our state?
First they were stealing our identity and culture. Now they want to take our property and resources.
In case you don’t know, we use to be our own separate country. and we probably should be again. (with our own nuclear weapons) YEE HAHH!
With all due respect, its 'business people' who are at the root of the illegal immigration problem. Its all about the bottom line & nothing else matters.
Its obvious what will follow once large areas of Texas become saturated with foreigners with no allegiance to this country.
Back at ya', Ya'akov!
Just what property do you think they are stealing?
American jobs, hospitalization, public school to name but a few. If they buy property, they'll actually have to contribute to the maintenance of any community where it's located.
