True, but McCain will be celebrating with LaRaza in July, and he'll no doubt find numerous other ways of angering what should be his base voters.

Has any presidential candidate lost all 50 states?

Walter Mondale came close in 1984. He barely held on to win his home state of Minnesota by 3,761 votes. A swing of 1,881 votes would have caused Reagan to sweep all the states in the electoral college. Of course Mondale burried Reagan in the District of Columbia which is not a state.
